How to stretch our Family Value Pack over a week

How to stretch our Family Value Pack over a week

At G.J. Honour we know that quality produce is important to our customers, but price is too. That's why our motto is quality at a reasonable price

Our Family Value Pack is just one example of this and we'd love to show you how it can easily stretch to feed a family of 4 for a whole week!

Nat

What's included?

For just £24.99 you get:

  • 1.2kg Free Range Whole Chicken
  • 450g Diced Free Range Chicken
  • 450g Best Beef Mince
  • 6 Homemade Pork Sausages

 That's a saving of over £3.00!

Example meal plan to feed a family of 4:

[Pop your diced chicken in the freezer because we won't be using that until the end of the week.]

Sunday

Use your whole chicken for a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings. Serve the chicken breasts and legs and set aside the rest for another meal.

Make sure to strip all the meat from the chicken carcass. It's messy but it's best to use your fingers for this job. Don't forget about underneath the chicken, there's loads of meat under there! Pop all the bits in a tupperware in the fridge - we'll use these tomorrow.

Monday

Time to use that leftover chicken! A really simple recipe for a busy Monday night is Chicken Alfredo Spaghetti. Serve it with a big salad on the side or some steamed greens and you've got yourself a delicious, balanced dinner.

You'll only need about 300g of shredded roast chicken for this recipe.

If you've still got any scrappy bits of leftover chicken (which we think you probably will) then pop those in the freezer and we'll use those later in the week.

Tuesday

Let's do a hands-off sausage traybake. Chop the sausages into pieces, pop them in a large roasting tray with a 500g pack of gnocchi, cherry tomatoes, red onions and whatever else takes your fancy. Olives, broccoli, peppers, pesto... all good!

Pop it all in a hot oven for 45 mins or so. You might want to add a bit of stock or passata if you think it's drying out.

Wednesday

Use your beef mince to make a big chilli con carne. If you bulk it out with a couple of tins of beans and loads of veggies, you'll be amazed at how far it stretches. Diced sweet potatoes, courgettes, peppers and mushrooms work really well.

And it's so versatile - you can serve it on jacket potatoes, with rice, in burritos. Take your pick! Pop the leftover chilli in a tupperware and we'll use it another night.

Thursday

Defrost your leftover roast chicken. It might not look like a lot but we'll bit those scrappy bits to good use in a Chicken Fried Rice . There's plenty of extra protein from the eggs to make it a really filling meal. And you can add all sorts of extra bits in there to make a real fridge clear out meal!

Friday

Nothing says Friday night like a movie and some nachos! Top your nacho chips with that leftover chilli con carne, loads of grated cheese, soured cream, guacamole, cheese and get ready to dig in.

Saturday

And finally it's the turn of our diced chicken to make a delicious chicken curry. Use whatever curry paste is to your liking (we like a Jalfrezi) and bulk it out with some extra veggies for added fibre and nutrition. Potatoes or cauliflower are great for soaking up those flavours.

And there you have it! A delicious varied meal plan to make our £24.99 Honour's Family Value Pack to last a whole week for a family of four. Serve with rice and naan bread. And don't forget the mango chutney!

You might even have leftovers to take you into next week!
